Man found dead in Sugar House, death determined to be suspicious (abc4.com) — Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found on a Sugar House sidewalk early Sunday morning, with Lincoln Avenue closed between 2100 and 2200 South. Officers initially responded to a possible overdose, but now are looking into earlier reports of shots fired and a verbal altercation in the area as they work to determine what happened.
   

2. Utah and Peru: 2 regions sharing rich Latter-day Saint histories (ksl.com) — Salt Lake City is now directly linked to Lima, Peru, with Delta’s new nonstop flight highlighting deep Latter-day Saint and cultural ties between Utah and Peru. Local and Peruvian officials say the route will boost trade, make missionary and family travel easier, and build on decades of humanitarian and religious connections rooted in Salt Lake City–based church efforts.

World Mission Society Church of God hosts Worldwide Blood Drive in Salt Lake City (abc4.com) — Salt Lake City residents just helped power the World Mission Society Church of God’s 1,754th Worldwide Blood Drive, held Sunday in partnership with the American Red Cross. With Utah facing a significant blood shortage, about 60 local volunteers supported donors as part of a global campaign that’s already involved more than 168,000 participants and over 70,000 blood donors worldwide.

California-based energy company planning underground nuclear reactor in Utah (ksltv.com) — Salt Lake City readers are learning that Utah has been chosen as one of three initial test sites for Deep Fission’s underground small modular nuclear reactors, though the exact in-state location remains undisclosed. State leaders, including Gov. Spencer Cox, are aggressively promoting nuclear power to meet growing energy demand and support massive AI-ready data centers, while the company targets 2026 for its first reactor to produce power in Kansas.
