- Salt Lake transportation officials have invited Sugar House residents to review road improvements for 2100 South, which is currently in the planning phase and long overdue. The area experiences challenges for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians due to crumbling pavement and a high number of left-turn crashes. The city's vision includes crosswalk improvements, a shared-use path, raised medians, and designated left turn lanes to create a safer and more predictable environment for all travelers in Sugar House. (KSLTV)
- The new Utah state flag has been raised over the Capitol building, marking its official adoption. The flag, designed through a public process, features the state's iconic beehive at the center and represents the mountains of northern Utah, Native American tribes, and the red rock canyons of southern Utah. While the new flag is gaining popularity and receiving orders from businesses and homes, critics are attempting to challenge it through a citizen ballot initiative, accusing state leaders of erasing history and labeling it as "woke." - Salt Lake City's foothill trails and trailheads will receive a facelift this summer as a way to reduce erosion, improve the watershed, and minimize puddles. According to the city's Public Lands Division, the restoration work will coincide with Rocky Mountain Power’s replacement of power poles in that area. The trails on the west side of City Creek Canyon will be closed for maintenance from Tuesday through approximately Jun. 2. (Salt Lake Tribune)
