Here are the top three stories in Salt Lake City today:

  1. Following a previous two-alarm structure fire in Salt Lake City, one of the affected buildings, located at 738 Kilby Court, caught fire again on Tuesday morning. The house had been abandoned due to the previous fire, and fortunately, there were no occupants inside during the incident. Firefighters took a defensive approach to combat the fire due to the home's instability, and a team of over a dozen firefighters was on-site working to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. (FOX 13 News Utah)
  2. Salt Lake City is currently hosting the summer event for Outdoor Retailer, with hundreds of exhibitors showcasing their products. This marks the second time this year that the outdoor industry trade show has returned to Salt Lake City after a six-year absence. The participating brands are presenting a diverse range of items, including food products, hiking gear, and camping equipment, catering to the needs of both large outdoor retailers and small mom-and-pop stores. The event will conclude at 4:00 p.m. today, Jun. 21. (FOX 13 News Utah)
  3. Salt Lake City police discovered a heavily intoxicated man carrying a gun in an area of the city that has been experiencing an increase in shootings. The 22-year-old man was found slouched over in a vehicle with vomit nearby and was subsequently booked into jail for carrying a weapon while under the influence. The police had been conducting enhanced patrols in response to recent incidents of violence in the Market Street area, where the discovery took place, and these patrols will continue throughout the summer.
