• UDOT battles rising problem of illegal tire dumping in Salt Lake City (kjzz.com) — Illegal tire dumping along Salt Lake City freeway on-ramps is forcing UDOT crews to divert from maintenance work and spend thousands in taxpayer dollars on cleanup and recycling. Officials say tire companies are likely responsible for multiple dumpsites around the city and are urging residents to report suspicious activity to UHP or local police so the problem doesn’t keep growing.
   

• Utah woman delivers comfort to incarcerated women (ksltv.com) — A Salt Lake City-based nonprofit is bringing comfort to women at the Salt Lake County Jail by donating hundreds of pillows and gift bags, with plans already underway for a 2026 Mother’s Day distribution. Inspired by her sister’s incarceration, founder Sabrena Suite-Mangum is also extending support to local kids by donating extra cereal to Lincoln Elementary, and is inviting residents to help with $11 donations or volunteer time.
