Video: Utah Trooper Intentionally Crashes Into Wrong-Way Driver
Dramatic video shows a Utah Highway Patrol trooper crash into a red SUV that was traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 15.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Dashcam footage shows the moment a Utah Highway Patrol trooper deliberately crashed his vehicle into an SUV that was heading the wrong direction on Interstate 15.
A red SUV was heading the wrong way on the northbound lanes of I-15 around 4:15 a.m. Saturday, the state's public safety department said in a news release. Troopers raced to the highway, near 2600 South, to stop the vehicle before it could hit other vehicles.
When Trooper Devin Henson found the vehicle near 4500 South, the SUV tried to swerve around the patrol car. The front of the trooper’s car struck the driver's side of the SUV.

The trooper suffered minor injuries in the crash and was treated and released from a hospital.
The driver of the wrong way vehicle was treated at the scene, and then arrested and booked into jail for DUI, police said.
