Changes In Store For VA Weather As Storms Move In

Several days of clear weather and summer-like temperatures are ahead after the weekend starts with the potential for thunderstorms and rain.

MARYLAND — Several days of clear weather and summer-like temperatures lie ahead for DC and Northern Virginia once the early start to the weekend works through the potential for thunderstorms and rain, forecasts show.

The National Weather Service said showers move in Friday night, and while Saturday will not be a total washout, there will be scattered showers and storms around throughout the afternoon.

"Mild temps persist through Saturday, with highs rising into the upper 70s to low 80s. This does come with showers and isolated thunderstorms each day," the National Weather Service said on social media. "A cold front moves through on Saturday afternoon, which brings in gusty west winds in the wake. Turning cooler by Sunday."
