Abandoned Buildings Photo Exhibit Shows Decaying Beauty

Fairfax Photographer Peter Flint's latest exhibit gives viewers a special perspective on abandoned buildings.

Photographer Peter Flint has an eye for careless abandon.

Flint's new exhibit at Beanetics coffee shop offers a look and examines the strange beauty of places many would never venture - abandoned buildings.

Flint, who is also a Beanetics manager, told Patch that this series of photos was taken during the last six months in various areas across the United States including Northern Virginia, Detroit, Philadelphia and outside Baltimore.

Flint’s compelling photographs range from the eerie beauty of an abandoned structure floating on the water - which Flint said he had to kayak about a mile and a half to get the right angle for his photograph - to the ghostly splendor of an old, decaying mansion outside of Leesburg, Va.

The show hangs until April 6.
