The West Springfield District Police Station, located at 6140 Rolling Road in Springfield, is hosting a community shred event on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to Noon.
Residents will be allowed to shred personal and financial documents for a suggested donation of $5 per bag or box. The proceeds go to benefit the Fairfax County Crime Solvers, a non-profit organization that provides anonymous phone, email and text capabilities for the public to report criminal activity and wanted persons to police.
