Pro MAXX Fitness Grand Opening Celebration Set for Saturday

Pro MAXX Fitness, the newly renovated Annandale gym, will host its official grand opening celebration Saturday.

The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 2 to 9:30 p.m.

Attendees will have the chance to win prizes and grab free giveaways, meet Pro MAXX Fitness staff and tour the new facility. The gym, which closed last January for renovations, is located at 7060 Columbia Pike in the Annandale Shopping Center.

“We are excited to celebrate the Grand Opening of Pro MAXX Fitness with the wonderful community of Annandale and present our club’s new features,” said Susan J. Hilaski, co-owner of Pro MAXX Fitness, in a press release from the gym. “Our spa-like facility provides a family-oriented and goal supportive atmosphere. We invite our neighbors to stop by on our special day to participate in an array of festivities. Our more than 20 team members are committed to serving the fitness needs of members and guests for many years to come.”

Annandale Chamber of Commerce and Annandale community leaders will attend the ribbon-cutting, scheduled for 2 p.m. Refreshments will be available following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Pianist Victoria Wyatt will perform a musical number for visitors at 2:30 p.m.

According to the agenda on the Pro MAXX Fitness website, the gym will open at 8 a.m. for members to work out. From 8 a.m. to noon, the gym will host a self-defense class for women taught by Northern Virginia police officers.

Residents interested in attending the class have to register in advance and pay the $75 fee.

Prizes will be handed out throughout the day. Visitors with children can stop by between 3 and 5 p.m. for free face painting for kids and then stay for appetizers, which will be served from 5 to 6 p.m.

The grand opening celebration will end with a “Black Light Dance Party” from 8 to 9:30 p.m. featuring DJ Trek. According to the schedule, those who plan to participate should wear white clothing and “proper athletic attire.”
