Squatter Found Sleeping in Vacant Apartment in Annandale: Police
Squatter faces trespassing charges after he was found sleeping in a vacant Annandale apartment Saturday morning.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say they responded Saturday to a report of a "squatter" inside a vacant apartment in Annandale. Police were called Saturday at about 11 a.m. to the 7900 block of Patriot Drive to the Avant Apartments in Annandale.
Police say the property manager noticed the suspect sleeping inside the apartment and knew he did not have the right to be there. Officers entered the apartment and recognized the suspect, police said. Jesus Paniagua-Iraheta, 25, of no fixed address was arrested, taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with trespassing and destruction of property.
