Teen Babysitter Files False Child Abduction Report After Toddler Goes Missing: Police

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say a teen babysitter falsely reported that a 3-year-old child was abducted.

Police were dispatched Wednesday afternoon, at about 4:43 p.m., to the 7500 block of Little River Turnpike for a report that a boy, 3, had been abducted.

During the preliminary investigation, officers quickly determined that the 18-year-old caller was supposed to be watching the child and had “lost” him, police said. Police say the teen panicked and made up the abduction story. Family members located the child safe and sound near their residence.
