More than 75 Annandale residents, local officials and students gathered in Toll House Park Friday evening for the annual tree lighting ceremony.
Del. Vivian Watts (D-39th) and Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross offered holiday wishes to the crowd following a moment of silence for those affected by Hurricane Sandy and the typhoon that struck the Philippines Tuesday.
The Knights of Columbus Color Corps presented the colors prior to the tree lighting. The Parklawn Pops from Parklawn Elementary School and the Poe Carolers from Poe Middle School led the audience in a round of songs to get attendees in a festive mood.
