2 Felony Charges Levied In Theft Of Parked Vehicle In Rosslyn: Police
A 49-year-old Fairfax Man who police say stole a vehicle in Rosslyn on Friday faces a potentially long stretch in prison if convicted.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 49-year-old Fairfax man who was arrested for stealing a parked vehicle in Rosslyn on Friday faces the possibility of a long stay in prison if he’s convicted, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 2:57 p.m. to the 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard in Rossyn for the report of a stolen vehicle. They determined that the suspect had entered the vehicle, tampered with the ignition, and then drove off, according to the incident report.
After conducting a search of the area, the officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near North Nash Street and Wilson Boulevard. Searching the vehicle, the officers discovered a stolen construction ladder and burglarious tools inside, according to police.

The officers arrested the driver, identified as Robert Fleming, and charged him with grand larceny auto, possession of burglarious tools, petit larceny and driving without a license, according to ACPD.
The burglarious tools charge is a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible sentence of 20 years to life in prison and a fine up to $100,000 if Fleming is convicted, according to the Code of Virginia. The grand larceny charge is also a felony, but it was not classified as of Tuesday morning. The two remaining charges are misdemeanors.

On Monday morning, Fleming appeared in Arlington General District Court for an arraignment, but the hearing was continued to Tuesday morning, according to court records.
