Unlawful Entry At Arlington Home Lands 2 Men In Court
Arlington County Police arrested two men they say unlawfully entered an Ashton Heights home on Monday and refused to leave.
ARLINGTON, VA —Arlington County Police arrested two men on Monday for entering an unoccupied residence in Ashton Heights, according to police.
Officers were dispatched around 4:21 p.m. to a residence in the 200 block of North Piedmont Street for a trespassing report, according to the incident report. Officers arrested two men they found inside the vacant home who refused to leave.
ACPD charged 40-year-old Habass Ibntalal with entering a property of another for the purpose of damaging it and obstruction of justice, according to court documents. Both crimes were listed as class 1 misdemeanors, which carry a maximum penalty of 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500.

Ibntalal was arraigned on Tuesday morning and had a bond hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning in Arlington General District Court, according to court records. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 13.
Police also charged 48-year-old Richard Smith with entering a property of another for the purpose of damaging it, according to court records. He was arraigned on Tuesday and has a preliminary hearing set for June 13 in Arlington General District Court.
