2 Yorktown HS Alumni At Paris Games; 1 In The Pool, 1 With A Camera
A photographer who graduated from Yorktown High School in 2010 took photos of Class of 2021 alumnus Torri Huske at the 2024 Olympic Games.
ARLINGTON, VA — As U.S. Olympian Torri Huske of Arlington was swimming her way to five medals — three gold and two silver — during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, a fellow Yorktown High School graduate was photographing her races.
Maddie Meyer, a photographer with global visual media company Getty Images, is a member of Yorktown's Class of 2010, while Tuske is a 2021 alumnus.
Yorktown Athletics even gave the two alumni a shoutout on Instagram on July 25: "With the Olympic Games starting tomorrow, the Yorktown community will be spending good wishes to Class of 2021 Olympic Swimmer Torri Huske (instagram.com/torri_huske) and looking for pictures from Class of 2010 international sports photographer Maddie Meyer [maddiemeyerphoto.com]

Graduating with a photojournalism degree from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication in 2014, Meyer started working as a sports photographer for Getty in 2015. The Paris Games were the fifth Olympics that she's covered.
