3 Crystal City Restaurant Fires Investigated, Suspect Arrested: Report

A man Arlington County Police and the Office of the Fire Marshal say set fires at three Crystal City restaurants was arrested on Thursday.

ARLINGTON, VA — Alexandria Police arrested a man on Thursday suspected of setting fires at three businesses along South 23rd Street in Crystal City on Jan. 9, according to the Arlington County Fire Department.

Working with the Arlington County Police, the Office of the Fire Marshal identified Timothy Clark Pollock as the man they say set fires to the exterior and patio areas of the Crystal City Sports Club, Freddie’s Beach Bar and McNamara’s Bar earlier this month.

An arrest warrant was obtained on Wednesday charging Pollock with three counts of arson related offenses. Alexandria police arrested Pollock around 6:54 a.m., on Thursday and transferred him to the custody of ACPD and the fire marshal’s office. He is currently being held without bond.

Pollock faces additional charges for unrelated crimes, which are being investigated, authorities say.
