9 Schools To Close Due To South Arlington Main Line Break
Repairs were underway Friday morning on a major water main break near S Four Mile Run Drive and S Randolph Street in South Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — A water main break has led to a boil water advisory and the closure of nine Arlington schools Friday.

And these schools remain closed Friday: Abingdon, Alice West Fleet, Arlington Career Center, Barcroft, Claremont, Hoffman-Boston, Montessori Public School of Arlington, Randolph, and Wakefield.
Arlington Department of Environmental Management issued the boil water advisory Friday morning due to the main break at South Walter Reed Drive. The advisory was issued as a precaution due to pressure loss.

A large water main break in South Arlington closed roads and forced 10 count schools to open on a two-hour delay. Repairs are expected to be completed by 4:30 p.m., according to an Arlington County alert.
The break affected multiple neighborhoods. The county estimated that 500 customers may be without water.
Ten county opened on a two-hour delay on Friday due to the water main break. There will be no morning extended day. Delayed opening were reported at the following schools:
- Abingdon Elementary
- Alice West Fleet Elementary
- Arlington Career Center
- Barcroft Elementary
- Claremont Immersion Elementary
- Hoffman-Boston Elementary
- Montessori Public School of Arlington
- Randolph Elementary
- Wakefield High School
- Trades Center
