Pubic Urination, Malicious Shooting Charges For DC Man After Fight: ACPD
A District man is facing multiple charges following a fight Tuesday night in Crystal City, according to authorities.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 33-year-old District man urinated in public while being detained by police who were investigating a fight in Crystal City on Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Arlington County police officers responded shortly before midnight to the 23rd Street South and South Eads Street area to investigate the report of a fight.
"Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect and three male victims were outside when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to an physical altercation during which the suspect allegedly struck the victims several times," according to the incident report. "Two of the victims sustained minor injuries and the other victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital."

The responding officers located and detained the suspect, who was identified as 33-year-old Delonte Peters of Washington, D.C., according to the report. While being detained, Peters urinated in public.
Peters was arrested and charged with malicious shooting, urinating in public and two counts of assault and battery, according to police. He was then held without bond.

Peters was arraigned Wednesday morning in Arlington General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, 2026, court records say.

The malicious shooting charge is a Class 3 felony. If convicted on this charge, Peters faces a potential sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a fine of not more than $100,000, under the code of Virginia.
The public urination and assault and battery charges are Class 1 misdemeanors, which are punishable by up to12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine, under Virginia law.
