9/11 Remembrance Ceremony To Be Held In 2025 In Arlington

ARLINGTRON, VA — The anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks will be marked with a wreath-laying ceremony on Thursday.

The ceremony will take place 9:30 a.m. at the Ellen M. Bozman County Government Center located at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. in Clarendon. A moment of silence will be held at 9:37 a.m., when the plane struck the Pentagon and 184 lives were lost.

Capt. David Santini of the Arlington County Fire Department will offer remarks. Representatives from Arlington County Government, the County Board, and the County's Public Safety Agencies (Police Department, Fire Department, Sheriff's Office, and Public Safety Communications & Emergency Management) will be in attendance.

At least 2,973 people lost their lives in the attacks, between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia and the hijacked plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field. The somber anniversary is marked across the country with memorial services, moments of silence and community events.
