Adoptable Arlington Pet: Smokey The Pup Needs A Forever Home

Meet Smokey — a sweet, playful rescue pup at The Animal Welfare League of Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, consider a local humane society like the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The shelter works with private rescue groups and other shelters to place animals where they have the best chance for adoption.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington rescues dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats and more.

One of these dogs is Smokey, a male Irish Wolfhound mix who is 10-month-sold. Smokey is neutered, large and grey and black.

The description of the adorable Smokey says he is a "playful, attentive, and charming guy has stolen many hearts here at the AWLA."

Smokey is eager to learn and has already perfected his "sit" "stay" and "come." He has also practiced focusing on his handler during playtime and is very good at giving you his full attention. Smokey would love an adopter that could continue working on his training and cues, and someone who will goof around with him while they play.
