34-Year-Old NoVA Man Faces Assault & Battery Charges Following 4-Man Fight

ARLINGTON, VA — A 34-year-old Arlington man was charged with aggravated malicious wounding in connection to a fight that involved three other people Monday night in the Arlington Mill area, according to authorities.

Officers from the Arlington County Police responded around 7:56 p.m. for the report of suspicious circumstances near the Columbia Pike and South Four Mile Run Drive intersection, according to the incident report. Three men told police that they were outside when an unknown man approached them and struck up a conversation.

Although the man walked away, he returned a short time later and began hitting one of the three men, police say. The two other men joined the fight, which eventually broke up. The officers detained the suspect after locating him in the 4800 block of Columbia Pike.

Both the suspect and one of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The two other victims sustained minor injuries during the fight.

ACPD obtained warrants for 34-year-old Richard Howard of Arlington, for aggravated malicious wounding and two counts of assault and battery, police say.
