Amazon Celebrates First Year At National Landing With A Community Day

To commemorate its first year at National Landing and show it's a good neighbor, Amazon is hosting a Community Day at Met Park on Saturday.

ARLINGTON, VA — To celebrate HQ2’s one-year anniversary in National Landing, Amazon is hosting a free Community Day on Saturday at Met Park.

The day will be filled with lots of outdoor fun for all, including children's activities, a DJ, interactive art installations, food tastings from local eateries, a brunch garden, lawn games, a farmers market and more.

"Amazon’s Community Day commemorates the company’s ongoing dedication to being a good neighbor and community partner in Virginia and across the region," according to a release. "Since announcing plans to build its second headquarters in Arlington, Amazon has worked each day to fulfill its commitment to becoming one of the most trusted business and community partners in the region. Last year, Amazon donated more than $78 million to over 100 organizations in the area, making it the top corporate philanthropist in the region."
