Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Ann is deeply passionate about educational equity, and her work as a mentor of undocumented high school students in Northern Virginia has changed hundreds of young lives. As a former teacher at Arlington Community High School, she knows the tremendous impact that mentoring can have on a young person's life. The Dream Project mentees are bright and talented teens who live in fear because they lack documentation. Ann gives them confidence and strength to push forward on their dream of higher education.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
She is tireless in her quest to support young people in building a better future for themselves and their communities.
