Arlington Among Country's Best Cities To Live In: Report
The 24/7 Wall St. ranking described Arlington as "one of the wealthiest and best educated neighborhoods in the United States."

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington is a great place to live. And, if you needed any more confirmation, you've got it: The city came in at No. 15 on 24/7 Wall St.'s 2017 list of America's 50 Best Cities To Live.
24/7 Wall St., which delivers financial news and opinion online, considered "roughly" 590 cities in the U.S. Census Bureau with a population of more than 65,000 people in 2016. The top performing city in each county was considered when it came to ranking, and data was collected in these nine categories: Crime, demography, economy, education, environment, health, housing, infrastructure, and leisure.
Arlington — "one of the wealthiest and best educated neighborhoods in the United States" — snagged the No. 15 spot with the following data:

- Population: 230,050
- Median home value: $678,100 (top 10%)
- Poverty rate: 8.1% (bottom 10%)
- Pct. with at least a bachelor’s degree: 74.3% (top 10%)
The site had this to say about the jewel of Arlington County:
High schoolers in Arlington test better than students in any city in Virginia other than Chesapeake and Centreville, and 74.3% of adults have at least a bachelor’s degree. By comparison, 31.3% of U.S. adults have completed four years of college.

The area’s hospitals also report some of the best outcomes in the United States. Combined, Arlington County’s two hospitals have lower mortality and readmission rates than the U.S. as a whole. Preventable hospitalizations in the area are about half as common as they are nationwide.
Dale City is the only other Virginia city to make the list. It placed at No. 6, highlighting the "relatively easy access to the entertainment and cultural amenities of nearby Washington D.C." and the low poverty rate.
