Police Investigate Carjacking In Pentagon City, Stolen Vehicle Found In DC

Arlington police are investigating a carjacking that occurred Thursday night in the Pentagon City area and involved several suspects.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police are investigating a carjacking that occurred Thursday night in the Pentagon City area and involved several suspects.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, the victims were getting out of their parked car in the 1100 block of Army Navy Drive when a group of men brandished guns and demanded keys to the car and a cellphone, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

After stealing the keys, the suspects then fled the scene in the stolen car and were followed by a suspect driving a dark-colored sedan, police said.

The carjacking victims’ car was later located abandoned in Washington, D.C, according to police.

One of the suspects is described as a thin-build Black male, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, wearing all black clothing and a facemask, police said. The other suspects are described as unknown race males, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, wearing all black clothing and face masks.

No injuries were reported in the carjacking, police said.

Last month, Arlington County police shared information with residents on how to avoid becoming a carjacking victim as carjacking incidents increase in the county and elsewhere in the D.C. area.

Thursday night's carjacking was at least the eighth reported carjacking in Arlington this year, ARLnow reported Friday. In 2022, a total of 14 carjackings were reported in the county, according to police data.
