Arlington Co. Schools Make Weather Decision For Jan. 8
Arlington Public Schools have made a decision about Wednesday, Jan. 8, as Northern Virginia continues digging out from a winter storm.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public School students will have a third day in a row off this week.
APS has decided to close all schools and central offices on Wednesday, Jan. 8, due to the storm that dumped 6 to 9 inches of snow across the region.
"Code 1 – All APS Schools & Offices Closed due to persistent hazardous conditions on side streets, sidewalks and parking lots near our school sites," according to an alert on the APS website.

Snow totals in as of midday Monday ranged from 5.6 inches near Glencarlyn Park and 5.8 inches at Arlington National Cemetery, 4.5 inches near the Army Navy Country Club, and 5.5 inches at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the National Weather Service said.
