Arlington Voters To Consider Bonds On Parks, Schools, Transportation And Infrastructure

Arlington residents will vote on four bond questions Tuesday concerning parks, schools, transportation and infrastructure.

ARLINGTON, VA — Voters in Arlington will be heading to the polls Tuesday to cast their votes in the statewide general election.

Voters will decide races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and the House of Delegates. Arlington voters will also vote in two countywide races and consider four local bond referendums.

Arlington voters are represented in the Virginia General Assembly by delegates from the 45th, 46th, 47th and 48th districts, which means there will be four separate ballots in county. The ballot you fill out depends on what district you live in.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 2. You can check your registration status at vote.elections.virginia.gov.

All voters wishing to cast a ballot in-person will be asked to provide one form of identification or sign a statement affirming your identity. A full list of acceptable forms of identification is available on the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Early voting in Virginia ended on Saturday, but individuals who requested absentee ballots from the Virginia Department of Elections online portal. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 2 and received by noon on Nov. 5. Mail-in ballots may also be returned by 5 p.m. on Nov. 2 in person at one of the nine drop-off locations around the county.

While the witness signature requirement was exempted earlier in the pandemic, it is again legally required for the November 2021 election and future elections in Virginia. Voters must sign the return envelope and include a witness signature with the completed ballot.

All ballots will contain races for governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general. The Virginia House of Delegates race will depend on which district you live in. A full list of sample ballots is available on the on Arlington County's Votings & Elections online portal.

Local Parks and Recreation
QUESTION: Shall Arlington County contract a debt and issue its general obligation bonds in the maximum principal amount of $6,800,000 to finance, together with other available funds, the cost of various capital projects for local parks & recreation?

Community Infrastructure:
QUESTION: Shall Arlington County contract a debt and issue its general obligation bonds in the maximum principal amount of $17,035,000 to finance, together with other available funds, the cost of various capital projects, including but not limited to Neighborhood Conservation, improvements to County facilities in the Courthouse area and other County infrastructure?

Arlington Public Schools:
QUESTION: Shall Arlington County contract a debt and issue its general obligation bonds in the maximum principal amount of $23,010,000 to finance, together with other available funds, the cost of various capital projects for Arlington Public Schools?
