Arlington Police Investigate Sexual Assault, Charge Man With Burglary
Arlington police arrested a man in connection with a burglary and sexual assault that occurred Friday morning in an apartment community.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department arrested a man in connection with a burglary and sexual assault that occurred Friday morning in an apartment community south of the Ballston neighborhood.
Geoffrey Harley, 39, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary and is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility, police said Monday. As the investigation continues, police said they may seek additional charges against Harley.
Shorty after 7 a.m. on Friday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of N. Piedmont Street for the report of a breaking and entering. When they arrived, officers determined a man broke into the victim’s residence, entered her bedroom and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

Arlington County Police said officers were able to get a description of the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Harley was found and taken into custody without incident Friday night in the area of 5th Street N. and N. Piedmont Street.
