Arlington Public Schools Adjust Schedule For Weather On Feb. 11
With Arlington County and the rest of the region under a winter storm warning, the school day will be adjusted on Feb. 11 for the district.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Schools will operated on an adjusted schedule Tuesday, Feb. 11, due to the approaching winter storm.
"All APS schools will close early on Tuesday, following their early release schedules, and offices will close two hours early," according to an APS alert sent out early Monday evening.. "The Extended Day Program will close at the same time as schools close. All afternoon/evening activities are canceled. The Work Session scheduled for the Advisory Council on Teaching and Learning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday is canceled. The scheduled Committee of the Whole meeting WILL occur at 6 p.m. Tuesday."
Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are possible for portions of Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, according to the National Weather Service. The winter storm warning will be in effect from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday.
