Arlington Public Schools Alter Schedule For Feb. 6
With wintry weather expected, Arlington Public Schools have made a decision about when students are expected to report on Thursday, Feb. 6.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Schools made a decision late Wednesday afternoon about when students will be going to school on Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. Forecasters anticipate a mix of light freezing rain, sleet, and snow starting Wednesday evening. That precipitation could transition into a steady freezing rain Wednesday night.
In anticipation of the impending winter story, APS issued the following alert:

"All APS Schools & Offices Will Open 2 Hours Late due to the winter weather advisory and the potential for icy conditions during the morning commute. The Extended Day program will also open two hours late and morning field trips are canceled. Custodial and maintenance staff and food service workers should report to work at their regularly scheduled time. All other employees should report to work two hours past their usual start time."
