Arlington Public Schools Make Weather Decision For Tuesday
Arlington Public Schools have made a decision about Tuesday classes due to the winter storm that's blanketed Northern Virginia in snow.
ARLINGTON, VA — Students in Arlington Public Schools will have an additional day of extending their winter break
"CODE 1: Due to the extended Winter Storm Warning and icy conditions in the forecast for tomorrow, all APS schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025," APS posted on social media.
Snow totals in as of midday Monday ranged from 5.6 inches near Glencarlyn Park and 5.8 inches at Arlington National Cemetery, 4.5 inches near the Army Navy Country Club, and 5.5 inches at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the National Weather Service said.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday throughout Northern Virginia and other parts of the region. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches are predicted, but isolated areas could get up to 12 inches if heavy banding forms, according to the National Weather Service.
