Arlington's Teen Police Academy Now Accepting Applications
The Arlington County Police Department will be holding two five-day sessions of its Teen Police Academy this summer. There is no charge.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department will be holding two five-day sessions of its Teen Police Academy this summer, with classes held at the Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center.
The Teen Police Academy, in its second year, will provide classroom training, hands-on learning, scenario training and field trips for rising 10th through 12th grade students.
The Teen Police Academy will seek to educate participants about a career in law enforcement, while also giving them a better understanding of how the police department operates and its role in the community.

Participants will be able to ask questions of presenters and share their insights throughout the program. Topics covered in the academy include crime scene investigation, traffic stops, K9 demonstrations, and criminal investigations.
Each daily session will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center is located at 333 Long Bridge Drive.

The first weeklong session will take place from Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14, and the second weeklong session will run from Monday, July 31 through Friday, Aug. 4
There is no cost for students to attend. The county said it will seek to maintain a balanced enrollment reflective of Arlington's community.
Completed online applications are due by Sunday, May 14 at 11:59 p.m.
