Assault With Knife Results In Potential Jail Time For Arlington Woman, Police Say
Arlington County Police arrested a 38-year-old woman they say forced her way into a Colonial Village home and cut a resident with a knife.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 32-year-old Arlington woman is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery, after she cut another woman during a fight inside the victim’s Colonial Village home on Saturday evening, according to Arlington County Police.
Officers responded around 6:22 p.m. for the report of a robbery by force in the 2100 block of 18th Street North. The victim told police that a woman she knew had forced her way into the home, which led to an argument that became physical, according to police.
The victim asked the other woman to leave, but the suspect refused and slashed her with a knife, police say. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The officers arrested Senita Nash of Arlington at the scene, charging her with burglary and assault and battery, according to the incident report.
Nash was arraigned on Monday morning in Arlington General District Court and is due back in court on Tuesday for a bond hearing, according to court documents. Her preliminary hearing is set for July 22.

Nash faces an unclassified felony charge of entering a house to commit assault and battery. The assault and battery charge is considered a class 1 misdemeanor, carrying potential penalties of up to 12 months in jail and a fine up to $2,500, according to the code of Virginia.
