Ballston Farmer's Market Returns April 6 For Its 11th Season

The first farmer's market of the season in Ballston will take place on Thursday, April 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Wellburn Square.

ARLINGTON, VA — The first farmer’s market of the season in Arlington’s Ballston neighborhood will take place on Thursday, April 6 in Wellburn Square, near the Ballston Metro.

The Ballston Farmer’s Market, in its 11th season and sponsored by FRESHFARM, will take place each Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of November.

“The timing enables both our office workers and our residents to take advantage of the market, shopping local and supporting our community farmers,” Tina Leone, CEO of Ballston Business Improvement District, said in a statement.

Starting in May, the first Thursday of the month will feature live music from local artists, beer and wine. Drink tickets are distributed by vendors when patrons spend at least $10, and they are also available for purchase on site.

The summer music line-up is: May 4, Josh Sowder Duo; June 1, Nick Tierra Duo; July 6, Keara Rose Duo; Aug 3, Kara & Matty D; Sept. 7, David Thong Duo; Oct 5, Mike Mallick Trio; and Nov 2, Dan Barry Duo.

The market offers conventional and certified organic fruits and vegetables, grass-fed meats and pasture-raised eggs, organic milk, yogurt, ice cream, sweet and savory baked goods, Virginia-made wines, cold-pressed juices, handmade soaps and lotions, wood-fired pizza, and hot-pressed sandwiches.
