Child Sexual Abuse Charges Filed Against 94-Year-Old Man: Arlington Police

Arlington County Police charged a 94-year-old man with sex crimes against children and are looking into any other victims of the suspect.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police charged a 94-year-old man with sex crimes against children and are looking into any other victims with whom the suspect may have had inappropriate contact.

Adolfo Zambrano of Arlington was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, the Arlington County Police Department said Wednesday. He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.

On Feb. 10, police were dispatched to a home around 6:25 p.m. for the report of an assault. A witness told police she saw a suspicious incident between Zambrano and a child inside a residence along Columbia Pike, according to police. The witness confronted the suspect, but he left the home, and she contacted police.

In their investigation, Arlington detectives determined the suspect inappropriately touched the child, police said. Detectives also identified an adult female victim who reported having been touched inappropriately by the suspect in 1999 when she was a child, according to police.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for Zambrano's arrest, and he was taken into custody on Feb. 16, police said Wednesday.
