ARLINGTON, VA — Rooftop Recess has the best rooftop views in Arlington, according to co-owner and general manager Brian Ouellette.

"Arlingtonians have really noticed and appreciated the significant buildout and details we added to make out atmosphere very inviting and unique," he told Patch.

But it's not just the impressive views that have Arlington foodies flocking to the 5-month-old restaurant in the Court House area. It's the menu.

There's the Chili Crisp Salmon, pan-seared with crispy chili oil and served with crab-fried cauliflower rice.

Another speciality is the house-made potato gnocchi in vegan brown butter, roasted sweet potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and red pepper strips, topped with shaved Brussels sprouts and fried basil.

During restaurant week, diners can order from a three-course, $45 price fixe menu with a choice. of Butternut Squash Bisque or Fig and Prosciutto Salad, as well as Wild Caught Salmon, a 7-ounce Petite Filet or Vegetarian Sweet Potato Gnocchi. For dessert, there's a choice of Blueberry Bread Pudding or Pumpkin Cheesecake.

Rooftop Recess at 2424 Wilson Blvd is open Monday-Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
