Crystal City Sports Club Opens Thursday After Suspicious Fire: Report
Crystal City Sports Club was able to open for business Thursday, even after a small fire damaged part of its enclosed patio, employee says.

ARLINGTON, VA — Crystal City Sports Club was still able to open on Thursday, even after the Arlington County Fire Department extinguished a suspicious fire in the restaurant’s patio area.
ACFD units responded around 5:30 a.m. to the 500 block of S. 23rd Street in Crystal City for the report of a structure fire. Arriving on the scene, fire personnel found items on fire in the sports club’s enclosed patio.
With the restaurant’s sprinkler system containing the fire, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish it and prevent it from spreading to the main structure of the building. No injuries were reported, according to ACFD.

The Office of the Fire Marshal determined that the fire was suspicious in nature and additional fire damage was found on adjacent buildings. The fire marshal is investigating these fires as well, deeming that they are also suspicious in nature.
On Friday morning, a Crystal City Sports Club employee confirmed by phone that the restaurant was able to open on Thursday, noting that they’re open 365 days a year. However, the section of the patio where the fire occured was still closed.
