DC Man Cited For Assault On Police After Arrest At Metro Station
Two District men who were wearing masks inside the Pentagon City Metro Station are facing felony charges, according to court records.
ARLINGTON, VA — A District man is facing an assault on police charge after he and another suspect refused to remove the masks they were wearing inside the Pentagon City Metro Station on Thursday, according to authorities.
An officer working the crime prevention detail just before 6 p.m. at the metro station noticed a man wearing a face covering inside, according to the incident report. The officer asked the man to remove the mask, but instead he tried to run off.
"The officer attempted to detain the suspect when a second male suspect grabbed the officer from behind," according to the report. "Additional responding officers were able to detain both suspects. No injuries were reported."

Police charged the two men, identified as Dalonte Davis and Alonzo Davis , who were both 25-year-old residents of Washington, D.C., with wearing a mask in public and obstruction of justice, according to the report. Additionally, Alonzo Davis, who the suspect who grabbed the officer from behind, was charged with assault on police.
Alonzo Davis was arraigned on Friday afternoon in Arlington General District Court, according to court documents. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2026. He was released on a bond.

Dalonte Davis is scheduled to be arraigned at 2 p.m. on Monday and released on his own recognizance, according to court documents. A preliminary had not be schedule as of Monday morning.
Both the mask in public and assault on a law enforcement officer charges are Class 6 felonies, which are each punishable by one to five years or up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
