ARLINGTON, VA — Four people reported hearing gunshots and finding a broken window and a shell casing while they were inside their residence in Crystal City late Monday afternoon, according to Arlington County Police.

Officers were dispatched around 4:50 p.m. to the area of 23rd Street S. and Richmond Highway to investigate reports of the sound of gunfire, according to police. A search of the area failed to locate anyone with injuries or evidence of shots being fired.

Around 5:48 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of 23rd Street South to investigate the report of hearing gunshots made by the four Crystal City residents. The officers recovered evidence confirming that gunshots had been fired, according to the incident report. They also determined that no one was injured.
