ARLINGTON, VA -- A fire erupted in a house in Arlington Wednesday morning, but fortunately everyone was able to escape the blaze.

Firefighters responded to the 3600 block of S. Four Mile Run with a fire in the basement of a two-story duplex.

They found the structure fully in flames and all occupants out of the house.

Two residents were checked by EMS, but neither were sent to the hospital.

Firefighters urged commuters to avoid the area as they had blocked the access road on Four Mile Run and S. Oakland Street, as well as one lane westbound on Four Mile Run.

All lanes were reopened and units cleared down as of 10:24 a.m.
