Great Chocolate Race Cancelled: Arlington County

The Great Chocolate Race scheduled to take place this Saturday in Rosslyn has been cancelled, county officials announced.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Great Chocolate Race scheduled to take place in Rosslyn Saturday has been cancelled, the police department announced Wednesday.

The 5-Miler race planned for Dec. 9 was canceled "due to circumstances outside the control of Arlington County and its Police Department," a news release states.

Runners who signed up to participate are advised not to respond to the area as planned.

The event was supposed to include a 5-mile run route followed by a box of Godiva, hot cocoa and holiday shopping.
