Gym Teachers Allegedly Smoked Pot At Elementary School: Reports

Two gym teachers were charged with possession of marijuana after they allegedly smoked on school grounds.

ARLINGTON, VA — Two Arlington elementary school teachers were accused of smoking marijuana on school grounds, according to reports.

NBC Washington reports the Taylor Elementary School gym teachers were suspended from the school and charged with possession of marijuana.

They have been identified as Michael Diaddigo, 25, and Luke Lloyd, 28. Another staff member has also been placed on additional leave for their involvement.

“As educators, we are obviously shocked and dismayed by this news, and our first concern has been for our students,” a letter from the principal to parents said, according to NBC Washington. “We believe the investigation is only focused on the adults and does not involve any of their interactions with our children.”

Police received reports that the three teachers routinely smoked marijuana inside the physical education office at the school. Police executed search warrants at the school and inside of the suspect's cars, according to reports.

Diaddigo is also accused of selling marijuana to other teachers on school property, NBC Washington says.
