Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe: 50 Years Of Serving Arlington Families

ARLINGTON, VA — For the past 50 years, Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe owners Wolfgang and Carla Büchler have served multiple generations of Arlington families.

"The most enjoyable part of running a bakery is that after 50 years of business we have catered to families in every stage at life from birthdays to religious events to weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, promotions, retirements and funerals," Carla Büchler told Patch recently. "It is truly a rewarding experience to have multi-generations of families celebrate their milestones with us."

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is a full-service bakery and deli offering breakfast items, mini pastries, party platters, sandwiches, breads, and cakes for all occasions.

The bakery is also one of the more than 70 restaurants participating in Arlington Restaurant Week Oct. 13 to 20. This is the seventh time the Arlington Chamber of Commerce has hosted the annual event.

During restaurant week, Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe will be offering the following items at special prices: Bagel Breakfast Egg Sandwich with 12-ounce coffee, Croissant Breakfast Egg Sandwich with 12-ounce coffee, Chicken Curry Salad with Raisins and Nuts Sandwich on six-grain bread with lettuce and tomatoes and a chocolate chip cookie, and Wurst on a Roll with a slice of strudel.

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is located at 2150 North Culpeper St. in Arlington. The shop is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday - Friday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. The shop is closed on Monday.

Helping the Arlington Chamber to host the event are Amazon, presenting sponsor; Arlington Economic Development, premier sponsor; Ballston and Rosslyn Business Improvement Districts, restaurant champions; and Leonard Paper Company, restaurant supporter.
