Lunar New Year Celebration In Rosslyn To Feature Lion Dance, Giveaways
The Rosslyn BID is holding a Lunar New Year Celebration on Feb. 8 at Central Place Plaza, where there will be a lion dance performance.
ARLINGTON, VA — The Rosslyn BID is holding a Lunar New Year Celebration on Feb. 8 at Central Place Plaza, where there will be a lion dance performance and other entertainment and giveaways.
The Lunar New Year Celebration will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8. Central Place Plaza is located 1800 N. Lynn Street.
At 6 p.m., the Lion Dance performance by Hung Ci Lion Dance Troupe will highlight a Lunar New Year tradition symbolizing power, wisdom and good luck for communities.

The Rosslyn Trike will also be at the celebration with Rosslyn-themed fortune cookies. Ceremonial tea will be provided by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce. Tea is often shared as a symbol of respect and hospitality during Lunar New Year celebrations.
The celebration will offer opportunities for attendee to participate, with an interactive dragon brought by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

Tae-Gu Kimchi, a Rosslyn Farmers Market favorite, will join the celebration on the plaza to sell handcrafted Napa cabbage kimchi.
Hung Ci Lion Dance Troupe seeks to promote traditional Chinese Lion dancing. The team is led by Sifu Teach Roberts, who has more than 24 years of Lion Dance experience.
Admission to this event is free. Registration is encouraged to help the Rosslyn BID prepare for the celebration.
