Arlington Woman, Unknown Male Assault And Rob Victim By Force: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a 20-year-old Arlington woman who they say assaulted and robbed a woman she knew on Friday night.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 20-year-old Arlington woman is facing multiple charges, including malicious wounding, in connection to a robbery near Falls Church on Friday night, according to authorities.
Arlington County Police responded around 10:34 p.m. to the 6100 block of Wilson Boulevard for the report of a robbery by force. The female victim told police that she was approached from behind by a female she knew and an unknown male. The two suspects struck the victim, knocking her to the ground, and began assaulting her, according to police. After taking the victim’s purse, the suspects fled on foot.
During the robbery, the victim sustained minor injuries, which were treated by medics at the scene, according to ACPD. The officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Investigators obtained warrants for Gema Ibarra Romero of Arlington, who turned herself in at the police station. She was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and robbery, according to police.
ACPD has not located the male suspect, whom they described as an Hispanic male, who stood approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 in height and weighed 150-170 pounds.

On Monday, Ibarra Romero was arraigned in Arlington General District Court and is due back in court on July 1 for a preliminary hearing, according to court records.
The malicious wounding charge is a class 6 felony, which carries a potential penalty of 1-5 years in prison or 12 months in jail and a fine of not more than $2,500, according to the Code of Virginia.
The robbery by force charge is a class 5 felony. If found guilty, Ibarra Romero faces a possible sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a jail sentence of up to 12 months and/or a fine of not more than $2,500.
