Marine Corps Marathon Shuts Down Arlington Roads This Weekend

Nicknamed the “Marathon of the Monuments”, the 39th annual Marine Corps Marathon welcomes runners to a 26.2 mile scenic route that will cause road closures in Arlington.

Over 30,000 runners from all 50 states and 54 countries will participate in the marathon that will pass the Washington Monument, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, and the FDR Memorial Sunday.

Roads will be closed throughout the area for the third largest marathon in the U.S. Runners will start on Route 110 between Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon and end at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington.
