Porto Funeral Homes

MaryAnn Rose Manciero Rustic, 85, of East Haven, beloved wife of Edward J. Rustic Sr., passed away on November 29, 2025 surrounded by her family. Loving mother of Edward (Marie) Rustic Jr. of East Haven, Marciann (Peter) Schaffer of Arlington, VA and Roseann Fusco of Meriden. Grandmother of Kristopher (Caitlin), Brian, and Joseph Rustic; Justin, Jordan, and Julianna Schaffer; Michael Fusco and Angelina Cruz. Sister of Phillip (Jayne) Manciero, Andrew (Gene) Manciero and Rose Tryanow all of East Haven and the late Raella Kimerle. Sister-in-law of the late David Tryanow and Christian Kimerle. MaryAnn was born in New Haven on August 8, 1940, daughter of the late Alphonse and Rose Carrano Manciero. Raised on Warren Street and later in the Brookside neighborhood, where she developed lifelong friendships. MaryAnn’s love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did. An avid bowler, she proudly became a member of the 300 Pin Club—a testament to her competitive spirit. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Pompeii, where she joyfully volunteered at the church carnival for over 50 years. She was affectionately known as “Auntie Mar”, whose home was open to all. Prior to her retirement, MaryAnn loved working as a manager for both CT Savings Bank and J.E. Robert Company.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven THURSDAY morning, December 4, at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Sign MaryAnn's guest book online at www.portofuneralhomes.net.
