Olympic Gold For Arlington Swimmer Torri Huske In 100-Meter Butterfly
As a member of Team USA, Torri Huske of Arlington won gold and silver medals over the weekend at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

NANTERRE, FRANCE — Torri Huske of Arlington grabbed Olympic gold Sunday night in the women's 100-meter butterfly, edging out teammate Gretchen Walsh, who won the silver, according to news reports.
Although Huske finished second behind Walsh in the Olympic trials last month, she touched the wall with a time of 55.59 seconds on Sunday. That was .04 seconds faster than Walsh's time of 55.63, according to the Associated Press. Walsh is the current world-record holder in the event.
“You never really know for sure and I first saw the light by the block and seeing that it was just very surreal, I didn’t even know how to process it,” Huske said, according to AP. “It’s just very overwhelming when you’ve been dreaming of this moment for so long.”
