Robbers Sneak Up Behind Victims In Pentagon City: Police
Police say a pair of robbers stole someone's bag by sneaking up behind and unbuckling it.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Police charged two teens and are looking for a third after a reported robbery in Pentagon City.
Police were called to the 1000 block of S. Hayes Street at around 8:49 p.m. on April 17 to a report of a robbery, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"[T]he victim was walking in the area when he felt someone tugging on his bag from behind," the report states. "Two suspects allegedly grabbed the victim from behind, unbuckling the strap to the bag, and stole the bag before fleeing on foot. Arriving officers canvased the area and observed the suspects entering the Metro, where they were taken into custody without incident."

Police investigated and now believe that the same two suspects, along with a third unknown suspect, had approached a second victim inside a nearby store and tried to distract her as the third suspect unbuckled the victim's bag, the report states.
Police charged 18-year-old Michael McKelvin of Clinton, Md., with grand larceny: pocket picking. They also obtained petitions for robbery for a juvenile suspect, and they describe the third suspect at large as a thin, light-skinned black male in his late teens.
