Spain, Tapia-Hadley Dominate Fundraising In Arlington’s 2 Board Races

Democrat Julius D. "JD" Spain Sr. and Zuraya Tapia-Hadley have received the most campaign donations in their respective board races.

ARLINGTON, VA — Democrat Julius D. "JD" Spain Sr. continued to outpace his three opponents in the Arlington County Board race in terms of fundraising according to the Oct. 28 campaign financial filings. This is the last time candidates are required to share fundraising data until after next Tuesday’s election.

As of Oct. 24, Spain's campaign committee received a total of $203,414 in donations, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, which tracks campaign finance in the state. That’s nearly five times more in donation money than the $21,332 reported by Audrey Clement (I)

By comparison, Forward Party candidate Madison F. Granger raised $11,419 and Republican Juan Carlos Fierro brought in $9,545.
